Simon Minett

Simon Minett

Simon has more than 25 years experience in the energy sector. In 2004, Simon founded Delta Energy and Environment with two colleagues, and this business has grown into a strong research and consulting practice in the UK. At the end of 2008, Simon left Delta to focus on his own business interests. He served as the Managing Director of COGEN Europe from March 1998 to October 2006, going part-time in May 2004 when setting up Delta. Finally, in 2009, Simon established Challoch Energy with the goal to be a centre of international expertise in clean energy policy, economics and deployment.

Simon is one of Europe’s foremost experts on Renewables, CHP and energy efficiency policy and deployment. He has a deep knowledge and consulting experience on assessing the economic and environmental performance of CHP and renewable energy plants of all scales, fuels and technologies against national methodologies. This expertise is built up over more than 20 years, during which Simon has:

  • Run the UK Government’s energy agency, ETSU’s activities on CHP and industrial energy efficiency policy and deployment
  • Helped set up ETSU’s international energy consulting business
  • Run the European CHP Association, COGEN Europe for 8.5 years as its Managing Director
  • Held board positions at IIEC Europe (a charity seeking to deploy energy efficiency), e5 (the European Business Council for a Sustainable Energy Future, a Non-Governmental Organisation) and WADE (the World Alliance for Decentralized Energy), including being Vice Chair for WADE for 4 years
  • Founded and grown the energy consulting practice Delta Energy and Environment from 2004 to 2008
  • Become a Shareholder in Abundance NRG, a Director for Green Gas Technologies and an Executive Technology Director for Orchard Holdings

Anna Limbrey

Anna occupies this position since 2009. She holds a Masters degree (MSc) in Environmental Resources awarded by the Salford University, UK. Having worked for more than 15 years in membership based organisations such as COGEN Europe and ERTICO (together with a further 10 years in sales and marketing), Anna has an extensive experience of liaising with CEOs and board level executives, being able to liaise closely with members to ensure needs are met on both sides.




Miroslava Kukurugyová

Miroslava joined Challoch Energy’s team in 2016. She holds a Masters degree (MSc.) in Renewable Energy Science awarded jointly by the University of Iceland and University of Akureyri, Iceland. She also holds a Masters degree (Ing.) and Doctoral degree (PhD.) in Power Engineering awarded by the Technical University of Košice, Slovakia. During her doctoral study she focused on a modeling of binary power plants and district heating systems.

 Roland Tual

Roland joined our office in February 2017. He holds a Masters degree (MSc.) in Political Sciences from the Institute of Political Studies of Aix-en-Provence. Before joining Challoch Energy's team, Roland has been working 3 years within the Smart Energy Demand Coalition (SEDC), an EU affairs office representing electricity demand-side services companies and related smart technology manufacturers. He has been working with policy makers and representatives from various companies, participating into commiunication, white papers and market analysis.
