Sectoral Platform in Chemicals for Energy Efficiency Excellence

The project, co-funded by the European Commission, aims to boost energy efficiency across the European chemical industry, particularly in small- and medium-sized companies (SMEs). Since its launch in April 2013, the project enables companies to benefit from existing energy efficiency tools and exchange best practice through an on-line platform, industry workshops and tailored training.

Irish capital lobbies for district heating

August 1, 2017 - Dublin City Council is trying to persuade the Irish government to fund district heating as part of its planned national subsidy scheme for renewable heating, which begins next year. A report submitted to the government by the council, which was prepared by Codema, the energy agency for Dublin’s four local authorities, has concluded that 75% of the city is suitable for district heating. EU to spend millions researching renewable energy in Britain and Ireland

July 31, 2017 - The EU is to spend almost 10 million euro (£8.9 million) on researching renewable energy in Britain and Ireland. The work will focus on the use of tidal power at Strangford Lough and the North Antrim Coast in Northern Ireland, ocean energy sites in Western Scotland and the potential for wave and tidal power generation in Donegal in the Republic of Ireland.
